How Propane Deliveries with Snow’s Fuel Work

Our customers should know exactly what to expect when choosing Snow’s. Here’s an in-depth look at our propane delivery process.

Become a Customer
Getting started is easy. Reach out to our team, and we’ll set up your account, confirm your tank details, and get you enrolled in whichever delivery plan fits your life best, whether that’s automatic delivery or will-call.
How We Route Deliveries
Our drivers follow optimized routes across Cape Cod to keep deliveries timely and efficient. When demand spikes during cold stretches, we adjust our routes accordingly to make sure every customer gets the fuel they need.
How Weather Forecasting Impacts Automatic Delivery
For our automatic delivery customers, we don’t just guess when your tank needs a refill. We use degree-day calculations, your home’s historical propane usage, and forecasted temperatures to predict when it’s time to schedule your next delivery.
How We Predict Fuel Usage
Every home uses propane a little differently. We look at factors like the number and type of appliances you run on propane, your home’s size, and past usage patterns to build an accurate picture of your household’s needs.
Typical Delivery Windows
Deliveries generally take place during regular business hours. You don’t need to be home. Our drivers access the exterior fill pipe, complete the delivery, and email you the bill without interruption to your day.
Emergency Response
Automatic delivery customers who use Snow’s as their sole fuel provider have access to emergency service. If something comes up outside of regular hours, we work to get you taken care of as quickly as possible.
Safety Protocols During Snowstorms
We ask that you keep the area around your tank and fill pipe clear of snow and ice so our drivers can reach it safely. If you’re away from your Cape home during winter, please provide a contact for whoever handles snow removal at your property.

Should I Own or Lease a Residential Propane Tank?

Owning or leasing/renting a residential propane tank through Snow’s depends on how much propane your home uses. Homes that use propane for heating or multiple appliances may qualify to lease a tank, while those with only one propane appliance or that use very little propane may be required to purchase a tank.

Propane Terms to Know

Propane
A clean-burning, odorless gas that’s given a distinct smell (often described as similar to rotten eggs) for safety, so leaks can be detected easily. It’s stored as a liquid under pressure and converts to gas when released for use.
Propane Tank
The storage container that holds your propane supply. Tanks can be installed above ground or underground and come in various sizes depending on your home’s usage needs.
Tank Gauge
A dial or meter on your propane tank that shows how much fuel remains, expressed as a percentage.
Will-Call Delivery
A delivery method where you’re responsible for monitoring your own tank gauge and calling to schedule a delivery when your supply runs low.
Automatic Delivery
A delivery method where your propane provider monitors your usage and tank levels for you, scheduling deliveries automatically so you don’t have to call.
Equipment Rental Fee
A yearly charge for customers who lease a propane tank but use very little fuel.
Owning vs. Leasing a Propane Tank
“Owning” means you purchase the tank outright, and it becomes your property. “Leasing” means you rent the tank from your propane provider, who remains responsible for its maintenance.
Low-Volume Customer
A customer who uses a small amount of propane annually, often because they use propane for just one appliance rather than home heating.
Gallon Usage
The total amount of propane a household consumes in a year. This number determines which delivery programs and pricing plans a customer qualifies for.
